While there are currently 36 states that have legalized medical marijuana, that leaves 14 more states that haven’t allowed medical marijuana in any form. This can be extremely detrimental to the health and safety of the medical patients in those states. Plus, it is safe to say that there is a great disparity in the medical treatment options available to American citizens depending on where they live, and that should just not be the case in such an advanced and civilized society like the United States. Either way, I wanted to write this article today to talk about some of the different ways that medical marijuana can help medical patients in the United States, and make the public more aware of some of the amazing health benefits that cannabis provides!
One of the first health conditions that I wanted to talk about is Arthritis, which affects millions of Amreicans throughout the United States. For many people who suffer from the horrible disease known as arthritis, it can be really difficult to escape the pain from day to day as it comes and goes in waves. Many people with arthritis not only struggle to get through the work day and complete daily tasks, but also struggle to sleep at night due to the amount of pain they are experiencing. Medical marijuana has shown to have great effectiveness when it comes to treating arthritis and managing the pain and inflammation symptoms that come with it.
Many patients who have used doctor prescribed medical marijuana treatments have reported reduced inflammation, and this in turn can give them a lot of relief from day to day and at night while they try to sleep. Plus, medical marijuana is a safe and natural treatment option compared to some prescriptions that one would find on the market. It is also worth mentioning that people with arthritis can use cannabis in a variety of ways, including CBD topicals and creams, or even smoking and inhaling cannabis to help manage their symptoms.
In addition, medical marijuana can also be an effective way to treat mental health disorders like anxiety or depression. There are millions of Americans throughout the nation that struggle with some sort of anxiety disorder, and studies show that the rate at which people report symptoms of anxiety or depression is increasing every year. Cannabis is a great option for treating symptoms of anxiety, especially when you know how much to smoke and are in regular contact with your doctor. Depending on the strain and the amount of cannabis you smoke, marijuana can actually heighten feelings of anxiety and even cause paranoia; consequently, it is important to know how your body reacts to certain things before you go all out.
